Center for Tourism Planning & Research (CTPR) is a research institution at Zhongshan University. It is also the seat of the Commission on the Geography of Tourism of the Geographical Society of China. It was established in 2000 in response to the rapid tourism development and to the demand for research on various issues of tourism development. CTPR pl

ays an active role in promoting tourism research and tourism planning in China. Applyingtheories to practice, CTPR studies the patterns of tourism development, which in turn are employed in tourism planning and management.
CTPR offers Ph. D. programs on tourism geography and tourism manage-ment, as well as Master programs on tourism geography and tourism planning. CTPR holds training programs on tourism planning, tourism development, tourism impact analysis and tourism management. CTPR also has a number of visiting scholar programs.
